Jean Harris, the patrician girls' school headmistress who spent 12 years in prison for the killing of her longtime lover, "Scarsdale Diet" doctor Herman Tarnower, in a case inspired television movies, has died. She was 89.
Gang Rape Victim Dies
The 23-year-old Indian medical student who was gang-raped and beaten on a New Delhi bus two weeks ago died of organ failure at a Singapore hospital early Saturday. The brutal assault on the woman triggered massive protests. Six men have been arrested in the Dec. 16 attack that occurred after the woman boarded what she thought was a public commuter bus.
